National School Orchestra Award: “In recognition of singular merit and outstanding contributions in the success of the school orchestra, for displaying an unusual degree of loyalty and cooperation, and for exemplifying that high standard of conduct that is the aim of the school instrumental program.” Seniors only. Combination of the best musicians and students who do more than show up and play. What are you doing that helps the Service orchestra program improve?
Director's Choice: Presented to 1-2 students each year for contributions above and beyond normal classroom expectations. Can be any grade, but usually a senior. Looking at students who make a positive impact to their class and the orchestra program. Students who do more than just what is expected of them. They don’t have to be the best musicians, but excellent members

Senior Recognition: We love our Seniors! Most have played all 4 years in high school and that is hard to schedule. It takes dedication to make scheduling orchestra a priority.

All-State Orchestra Festival: A performance made of the best student musician's in the State of Alaska. Students are selected through a blind audition. Must have a 2.0 GPA or higher.
ASD Solo and Ensemble: Students prepare a piece with the help of their music director or private instructor and perform live in front of an adjudicator.

- Mikka Carino - Violin - Excellent Rating
State Solo and Ensemble: Students must receive a Superior rating at their regional festival and have 2.0GPA or higher. Festival is the 1st full weekend of May.

Class Nominations: There are 12 categories that students decided they want to recognize in Class. At the end of the year, students nominated each of their classmates for the categories they think they fit best in. The students are then presented with a list of what their classmates nominated them for.
Happy Things: Celebrating the small things in life is what helps you keep going. Every few weeks (or whenever a student is moved to) we write happy things to each other. Each student is presented with a list of all the amazing things their classmate noticed about them throughout the year.
